# Upgrade Guide

## Upgrade to v1.5

The v1.5 asset will not properly install over the previous packages. Please carefully follow the instructions to keep your settings and waypoints.

Open the scene created with the older plugin version and ensure everything works.

**Download the following tool that will prepare your old package for upgrade:**

Import the UpgradeTool package into your project

Run the upgrade tool

Make sure to select **Upgrade Pedestrians to v1.5.**

The tool will copy the files that need to be kept automatically and delete the old files from your project. The following image shows the files that were copied from old folders to be kept.

A lot of errors would appear in your console. This is normal because all the scripts from the old plugins were deleted. You should not do anything about them right now.

#### Import the new v1.5.x plugin from the Asset Store

After import, all the errors should go away.

If you have errors like this:

**The name 'PedestrianTypes' does not exist in the current context**

These are because PedestrianTypes moved inside the User namespace, so you have to add the following using statement to each file that references the PedestrianTypes:

**using Gley.PedestrianSystem.User;**

Now everything is ready and should work as before.
